Rafting Ollantaytambo 1 Day
Sacred Valley Rafting – Ollantaytambo
We have a deep affection for rafting down the Urubamba River, particularly the Ollantaytambo section, which boasts one of the most breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley that you’ll ever experience. The Ollantaytambo portion is the easiest and most popular whitewater section of the Urubamba River, with the Toboggan and Station rapids being the highlights of the rafting excursion, both of which are thrilling level III rapids. During the tour, you can indulge in our delectable, homemade cuisine, which is plentiful and nutritious, as well as enjoy a fun and safe adventure.
The Urubamba River rafting – Ollantaytambo excursion commences at 8 a.m. when we pick you up from your hotel. We will embark on one of the most picturesque drives through the Andean Mountains, passing through charming villages, farms, and lagoons. As we travel west, the snow-capped mountain range dominates the view, with the impressive 6271-meter (20574.15 foot) high Salkantay mountain visible in the distance. We will continue on to the scenic overlooks of the Sacred Valley, taking in Inca ruins, before arriving at the start of the rafting tour.

OLLANTAYTAMBO RAFTING 1 DAY
Before embarking on the adventure, your river guide will deliver a safety briefing and demonstrate rafting commands and safety procedures. We will then take a few minutes to practice what we have learned in the safety briefing, and once everyone is prepared, we will begin rafting!
This section of the river is ideal for beginners, families, and school groups. The first hour of the tour features calm water with some level I and II rapids. The rafting tour is enhanced by stunning Inca sites and mountains that run parallel to the Urubamba River. During the final hour, we will navigate rapids such as the Station (level III), Toboggan (level III), and other rapids with excellent waves, holes, and technical rapids. If weather conditions are favorable, you may even choose to jump into the river! After completing the Urubamba River rafting adventure, a delicious lunch will be waiting for us near the riverbank.
After lunch, we will return to Cusco, with a travel time of approximately one hour.
